Get Virtualizor
Admin ACL

Hello,
In Virtualizor as we know The ACL (Access Control List) feature enables the Root user to define and control what other admins can access and control within the Virtualizor admin panel. This powerful feature with precise access management, ensures that each admin has only necessary permission as per their role defined by root.
Now in this upcoming version, we have enhanced security measures. Admin users can no longer change any other admin ACL plan settings or reset their passwords. This improvement ensures a higher level of security within a panel, preventing unauthorized access and modifications.

ACL Plan List :

With ACL, the Root user or any Admin with ACL creation privileges can create a customized access list plan, specifying which features other Admins can view and manage. These ACLs can be assigned to any Admin while adding or editing a user by root user, thereby streamlining access control across the panel.

Admin Access:

Furthermore, an Admin with appropriate ACL privileges can manage both Cloud Users and End Users efficiently, providing greater flexibility in user management while maintaining a secure and controlled environment.

One of the key responsibilities of the root user is to manage and control the admin access list plan within the Virtualizor. To ensure that the critical system configurations remain protected, the root user creates ACL plan that restricts some access like database access, ACL plan creation, edit and list view settings.

By blocking the database access by the admins, Unauthorized admins are prevented from making unintended modifications, ensuring database security. The root user can specify exactly which admin can modify and access the database as per their defined roles by the root to reduce the risk of accidental and malicious changes in the system via Virtualizor. Once the ACL plan is created by the admin it can be assigned to any admin account, enforcing strict limitations on who can interact with the database,  ACL plan and other restrictions as defined in the ACL plan.

ACL Plan Structure: Categories and Subcategories
The ACL plan is structured into different categories, each containing specific subcategories that define precise access permissions. The Root user can assign access based on these categories, ensuring that Admin users have only the necessary permissions required for their tasks. more details

Summary :
With this structured ACL system, Virtualizor enhances security, ensuring that the access control provides strict governance while allowing flexibility where necessary. By preventing unauthorised access like ACL plan modification, database access enables control where needed. ACL system reinforces Virtualizor’s commitment to robust and secure administrative management.
